The candidates currently running for council in the primary election are Donna Johnson, Cynthia Butterworth and Joy Banks, all of whom are incumbents. In addition there is one other council seat up for election. One write-in candidate has requested a campaign packet. The deadline for write-in candidates to file is July 19th. There are three candidates running for mayor: current mayor, Mayor Ken Taylor; Councilor Johann Wallace and George Nerhan.
