Author Brian Phelps will be at the Huachuca City Public Library on Fri, Feb 15 at 10 am to discuss his book, "Fanny and Me". The book is the story of his 4,000 mile, solo, cycling trip across the USA and Canada. He will entertain use with tales of his "white knuckle adventures" during the trip and will have copies of his book available for purchase.

In honor of Black History Month the Huachuca City Public Library's Spotlight on Speakers Program welcomes Sergeant Major (Ret.) Charles Hancock. On Thursday, February 21st at 10:00 am, Mr. Hancock, President of the Southwest Association of Buffalo Soldiers, will give a presentation on the role of African Americans in times of war from the Revolutionary War to the current War on Terror. San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area presentation

Gabrielle LaFargue will present an historical overview of the BLM land designated as the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area in Sierra Vista. The silver boom during the 1890s was significant to the development of this area. Included in a slide presentation will be historical photos as well as photos of the flora and fauna you might see in this important natural habitat. This event will be held at the Huachuca City Town Hall.

Tombstone Vigilettes

This is a Spotlight on Speakers presentation. Founded in 1946, Tombstone's Vigilettes, a re-enactment group, will appear in period dress, a mini-fashion show. Vigilettes will explain how this style of garment represented Tombstone life during the period 1890-1915. Vintage objects will be on display. This event will be held at the Huachuca City Town Hall.
